Hello!
I’m looking to connect a gaming console, like a PlayStation or Xbox, to my HP EliteBook’s monitor. Since the monitor usually only works when the PC is powered on, I’m wondering if it’s possible to use it as a standalone screen, essentially acting like a smaller TV.
Is it possible to route a console’s HDMI signal directly into the laptop screen, and if so, what hardware or settings do I need to make this work?
Thanks!
To connect a gaming console to a monitor, plug an HDMI cable from the console into the monitor’s HDMI port. Turn on both devices and select the correct HDMI input on the monitor. If the monitor has no built-in speakers, connect external speakers or headphones for audio. For older monitors without HDMI, use an HDMI-to-DisplayPort or HDMI-to-VGA adapter, depending on the monitor’s input type. Once connected, adjust the display settings on the console for the best resolution and refresh rate.
