Hi everyone, I recently noticed a small spot on my laptop screen that appears to be a dead pixel. It’s always visible and doesn’t change color with the rest of the display. Has anyone dealt with this before? Are there any safe methods to fix a dead pixel, or is screen replacement the only solution? Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be appreciated. Thanks!

A dead pixel can sometimes be fixed, but it depends on whether the pixel is actually dead or just stuck.
First, try displaying different solid colors (red, green, blue, black, and white) across the screen to confirm the issue. If the pixel changes color on some backgrounds, it’s likely a stuck pixel rather than a dead one.
You can also try using a pixel-fixing tool that rapidly cycles colors in the affected area. Let it run for 15–30 minutes and see if the pixel starts working again. Some users have had success with this method.
Another option is to gently massage the area around the pixel using a soft microfiber cloth while the screen is off. Be very careful not to apply too much pressure, as this can damage the display.
If the pixel remains black all the time and doesn’t respond to any of these methods, it’s probably a true dead pixel caused by a hardware defect. In that case, the only permanent solution is usually a screen replacement. If your laptop is still under warranty, it’s worth checking the manufacturer’s dead pixel policy, as some brands will replace the display if a certain number of dead pixels are present.
