Hi everyone, I’ve noticed white lines appearing on my screen and I’m not sure what they mean. Are white lines on a screen usually caused by a hardware issue, a display cable problem, or a software-related issue? I’d like to understand the possible causes and how to troubleshoot or fix them. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

White lines on a screen are usually a display issue where horizontal or vertical white streaks appear across the monitor, laptop screen, phone display, or TV. The lines may be constant or appear intermittently and can range from a single line to multiple lines covering large portions of the screen.
In many cases, the problem is caused by a loose or damaged display cable, graphics driver issues, physical screen damage, or a failing display panel. If the lines appear only in one application, it could be a software issue, but if they show up everywhere—including during startup—the cause is more likely hardware-related.
A good first step is to restart the device, update graphics drivers, and test the display with another cable or monitor if possible. If the white lines persist across different applications and after troubleshooting, the screen itself or the graphics hardware may need repair or replacement.
