How to fix the bad gateway error code 502?

  • 0
  • 0

Hello!

I recently switched from Llama 2 to Llama 3, and I’m now getting nothing but 502 Bad Gateway errors. The previous model works fine, but this one consistently times out at the 300-second mark despite my retry logic.

Is there a way to extend the API timeout or a specific configuration to prevent these gateway failures?

Thanks!

A 502 Bad Gateway error usually means one server didn’t get a valid response from another server. It can happen because of server overload, network issues, or website problems.

Here are some quick ways to fix it:

Refresh the page – The issue may be temporary.
Check your internet connection – Restart your Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Clear browser cache and cookies – Old data can sometimes cause loading problems.
Try another browser or device – This helps confirm whether the problem is browser-related.
Disable VPN or proxy temporarily – Some network settings can trigger a 502 error.
Restart your router and device – A simple reboot often fixes connection issues.
Wait a few minutes – If the website server is down or overloaded, only the site owner can fix it.

If the error appears only on one website, the problem is likely on that website’s server. If it happens on many sites, your network or browser may be causing the issue.
