How to increase internet speed?

I am experiencing slow internet speed on my device, especially while browsing and streaming videos. My current connection often buffers, and downloads take much longer than expected. I have already tried restarting my router, but the issue still persists. I am using a Wi-Fi connection at home, and multiple devices are connected at the same time.

I would like to know what steps I can take to improve my internet speed, whether it’s through router settings, limiting device usage, or any other methods.

Slow internet like this is usually caused by network congestion or weak Wi-Fi performance, especially when multiple devices are connected.

First, try moving closer to your router or placing it in a more central, open location—walls and distance can reduce speed significantly. If possible, switch to a 5GHz Wi-Fi band, which is faster and less crowded than 2.4GHz.

Next, limit the number of devices using the network at the same time, especially those streaming or downloading in the background. You can also check your router settings for QoS (Quality of Service) to prioritize your device.

Updating your router firmware and resetting it occasionally can also improve performance. If your router is old, upgrading to a newer model can make a big difference.

Lastly, run a speed test to compare your actual speed with your plan. If it’s consistently lower, contact your ISP, there could be a line or service issue.
