If your budget is up to $800, you’ve got a pretty big list of solid picks, especially now that OLED prices have gone down a bit, like noticeably. I’d probably whittle it down a little based on what type of games you actually play, not just what sounds good on paper

For Competitive FPS, the Alienware AW2725DF (27″, 1440p, 360Hz QD-OLED) is honestly one of the better choices if smooth motion and snappy response times are your top priorities. It often sits under the $800 line during sales, and that makes it feel even more reasonable.

For a Best all-around gaming monitor, the Gigabyte MO27U2 (27″, 4K, 240Hz OLED) is a strong pick. If you care about crisp detail for single-player adventures, while still wanting high refresh rates, it fits that role really well.

If you want an Immersive ultrawide experience, the ASUS ROG Strix XG34WCDG (34″, 3440×1440, 175Hz QD-OLED) is pretty great for stuff like RPGs, racing, or open-world games. It’s frequently around $650, which makes it one of the better value deals in this whole price bracket

And for Best value IPS, non-OLED style, if you’d rather keep costs down, the LG 27GR83Q-B is still one of the stronger 27″ 1440p 240Hz IPS monitors. You get great gaming performance without paying the OLED premium, which, yeah, matters for a lot of people.

If I were grabbing a monitor today with an $800 budget, I’d lean toward a 27″ 1440p OLED or a 4K OLED. OLED panels have become a lot more affordable, and the upgrade in contrast, HDR quality, and response times is pretty obvious versus traditional IPS. Unless your use is mostly static desktop work all day, they’re honestly hard to top for gaming.
