Can someone please explain the concept of a Networking Operating System (NOS)?
A Networking Operating system (NOS) is a system of computer software that supports, provides or enables for computers and in general any client system to communicate over any of the several types of computer networks. A networking operating system allows computers, applications, internet access, printers and files to be shared between computers. Security is usually an essential component of an NOS to ensure data is safe from unauthorized users. Examples are the server version of Microsoft operating system (Windows Server), the server versions of UNIX operating systems and some versions of the LINUX operating system.
