I want to understand what WMN in networking actually means and how it is used in networking systems. I’ve heard it stands for Wireless Mesh Network, but I’m confused about how devices connect and communicate in it. Can someone explain it in simple terms along with real-life examples and its main benefits?

WMN in networking stands for Wireless Mesh Network.

It’s a type of network where multiple wireless nodes/devices connect with each other to create a mesh-like structure instead of relying on a single router or access point. Each node can forward data to other nodes, which helps extend coverage and improve reliability.

      WMNs are commonly used in:

      Smart cities
      Large campuses
      Industrial IoT setups
      Community internet networks
Areas where wired infrastructure is difficult

One of the main advantages is that if one node fails, the data can still travel through another path in the mesh network.
