A Facebook poke is a rather simple little feature, that lets one person send a playful nudge to another. It doesn’t carry one fixed meaning, like it just depends, on who sent it and why, basically.

      It might mean

They just want to drop a casual “Hi” without typing a full message
They are trying to get your attention, a quick “hey, look here” kind of thing
They’re messing around, joking, or being a bit playful
They might be hoping you’ll respond, and start some sort of chat

A poke, though, doesn’t automatically say “flirting” or confirm any real, special plan. Most times it’s simply a small social tap.

If you get one, you can:
Poke them back, just to show you saw it
Message them, if you actually want to talk
Or ignore it, if it doesn’t feel right for you

So, in short, a Facebook poke is mostly a casual way to get attention, and what it “means” is going to depend on the moment, the context and how you know the person.

If your main focus is gaming, then you might want to look at a few CPUs that are worth considering, kind of depending on your budget and what you play, you know.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D – this one is a standout for gaming since the 3D V-Cache tech really helps with frame stability, and it shows in a lot of modern titles.

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D – this is still a very solid choice if you’re aiming for top tier gaming performance while spending a bit less, it’s a sort of sweet spot for many people.

Intel Core i7-14700K – a strong all around chip that takes care of gaming, streaming, and everyday productivity, pretty reliably.

Intel Core i5-14600K – offers excellent gaming results for the money, and it works well as a mid range option without feeling underpowered.

Oh and also, don’t forget to pair the CPU with a capable GPU, plus enough RAM (at least 16GB, and ideally 32GB for newer games) and a fast SSD, because those things can absolutely change how your gaming experience feels in practice.

macOS gives you access to basically every app you’d want for work, school, coding, photo editing, and even light video stuff, you know. The newer Apple Silicon MacBooks are also incredibly fast, stay cool, and the battery is honestly amazing. You can keep one for 5–7 years, no big deal, without it feeling outdated too soon.

the Pixelbook isn’t a bad device at all. If all you do is browse the web, use Google Docs, watch YouTube, and rely on Android apps then ChromeOS is super simple. It boots up almost instantly, it feels snappy. It’s lightweight, secure, and pretty easy to keep running. But once you start needing desktop software, or more advanced workflows then you’ll start bumping into limits.

I’d sort of compare them, in below terms:

Performance: MacBook wins. It’s way better for multitasking, creative work, and programming.
Battery life: MacBook usually goes longer, especially on the newer models.
Build quality: Both feel premium, but I’d give a small nod to the MacBook.
Software: macOS is more capable and flexible. ChromeOS is simpler and more straightforward for basic tasks.
App compatibility: MacBook by a mile. It supports far more professional and productivity apps.
Ease of use: Both are beginner-friendly, though ChromeOS is probably the easiest if you mostly want a browser based setup.
Value for money: If your needs are basic, a Pixelbook can be a smart pick. If you want a laptop that can grow with your needs, the MacBook tends to win for long-term value.

For students, I’d point you toward a MacBook if the budget allows, especially if you’re studying computer science, engineering, design, or anything that requires specialized software. For office work and coding, I’d still lean MacBook, because it handles development tools much better.

      Pros of MacBook
      It gives excellent performance
Fantastic battery life, honestly it feels kinda endless
Big app universe, lots of stuff to grab
Great keyboard, trackpad and display, really smooth
Seems like it can run for many years and not blink

      Cons of MacBook

It’s more expensive, no surprise there
Not very customizable, or much in the way of upgrades, you’re mostly stuck with what you buy
Some software is Apple-only , or it just plays nicer inside the Apple ecosystem

      Pros of Pixelbook

      Fast and pretty straightforward ChromeOS
Light, portable, easy to throw in a bag
Good fit for web based work, pages and tabs and all
Solid security with low effort, not much maintenance to babysit

      Cons of Pixelbook

Desktop apps are limited, compared to what you get on a Mac or Windows
Not great for heavy programming, video editing , or creative workloads
More tied to Google’s ecosystem and those internet-first workflows, so you’ll feel it when offline

If someone asked me for just one recommendation with zero extra context, I’d probably say go for the MacBook. It’s the safer bet, because it handles both everyday tasks and the heavier stuff without much drama, and you’ll likely still be good with it years from now too. The Pixelbook is a really nice niche option, but the MacBook is the more complete laptop, for most folks

If your budget is up to $800, you’ve got a pretty big list of solid picks, especially now that OLED prices have gone down a bit, like noticeably. I’d probably whittle it down a little based on what type of games you actually play, not just what sounds good on paper

For Competitive FPS, the Alienware AW2725DF (27″, 1440p, 360Hz QD-OLED) is honestly one of the better choices if smooth motion and snappy response times are your top priorities. It often sits under the $800 line during sales, and that makes it feel even more reasonable.

For a Best all-around gaming monitor, the Gigabyte MO27U2 (27″, 4K, 240Hz OLED) is a strong pick. If you care about crisp detail for single-player adventures, while still wanting high refresh rates, it fits that role really well.

If you want an Immersive ultrawide experience, the ASUS ROG Strix XG34WCDG (34″, 3440×1440, 175Hz QD-OLED) is pretty great for stuff like RPGs, racing, or open-world games. It’s frequently around $650, which makes it one of the better value deals in this whole price bracket

And for Best value IPS, non-OLED style, if you’d rather keep costs down, the LG 27GR83Q-B is still one of the stronger 27″ 1440p 240Hz IPS monitors. You get great gaming performance without paying the OLED premium, which, yeah, matters for a lot of people.

If I were grabbing a monitor today with an $800 budget, I’d lean toward a 27″ 1440p OLED or a 4K OLED. OLED panels have become a lot more affordable, and the upgrade in contrast, HDR quality, and response times is pretty obvious versus traditional IPS. Unless your use is mostly static desktop work all day, they’re honestly hard to top for gaming.

If websites feel slow to load but then once they begin loading everything seems pretty normal, DNS is usually the first thing worth checking. I’d mess with the easy bits first, before automatically assuming it’s some DNS problem, you know.

Try flushing the DNS cache right away:

      ipconfig /flushdns

After that, test using a different DNS provider, for example Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) or Google (8.8.8.8). Sometimes the DNS from your ISP is slower, even when it looks fine at first, so swapping to a public option can quickly tell you if that’s the real cause.

      You can also run:

      nslookup example.com

If it reliably takes a second or two just to get back an IP address, that’s usually a strong hint the whole delay is happening because of DNS, like at the name resolution step.

If changing DNS doesn’t do much, I’d restart the router, then reset the Windows network stack:

      netsh winsock reset
      netsh int ip reset

Then go ahead and reboot the PC.

Also, if it’s happening on every device in your home network, I’d point the finger at the router or your ISP’s DNS rather than blaming Windows itself. But if it’s only one PC, then it’s more likely local configuration, a driver, or some software weirdness. VPNs, and some antivirus tools can also make DNS lookups slower.

Honestly, I’d start with those steps because they’re quick, fairly safe, and they fix this kind of thing surprisingly often.

I ran into something like this on an older iPad a few years ago. In a lot of situations, that little white spot you see on light backgrounds is usually from pressure behind the display, often because some internal bit has been pressing against the screen over time. Honestly it’s pretty common on certain iPad models.

There are a few other things that can cause it too, like

Backlight irregularities: a snag in the backlight layer can make a brighter patch show up, especially on white or pale screens.
Display layer wear or damage: even if you didn’t drop it, or you don’t see an obvious crack, the LCD layers can still develop those weird pressure marks or defects.
Battery swelling (less frequent but still worth checking): if the battery starts expanding, it can push upward on the display from the inside. If you notice the screen kind of lifting, frame separation, or anything battery-ish going on, it’s better to get the device looked at sooner rather than later.

If the spot is coming from a pressure point inside, it might stay the same size for quite a while, but a few people say it slowly becomes more noticeable. And yeah, there’s usually not really a software adjustment for this kind of thing.

Whether it’s fixable without swapping the whole display depends on the real cause. If it’s more of a mounting, or another internal pressure scenario, a technician might be able to deal with what’s doing the pressing. But if the LCD panel itself got permanently affected, then a display replacement is often the dependable route.

One practical thing you could try is running full screen solid colors, white, gray, and black. If the spot stays in the exact same spot across apps and different backgrounds, that basically points to a hardware cause, not a software one.

Could you tell me the exact words you see on the screen , and also what MacBook model and year it is?

While you’re checking that , you can try a few steps that are pretty common.

First, restart the Mac, then sign in again using the correct password (no typos).
Also, if it prompts you , try using your Apple ID to reset the password.
Lastly, try booting into Recovery Mode. On Apple Silicon, hold the power button until you see options. On Intel Macs press Command + R during startup, then look for the password reset options there.

If you paste the exact error message iI can help point you to the right fix, because the wording really matters.

Also, if you still have apps such as Photoshop or Illustrator installed, you might need to remove those first, before Creative Cloud can be taken off properly and without a hassle.
