How do I fix black lines across Macbook pro screen?

I am seeing black lines across my MacBook Pro screen. The lines appear even after restarting, and I’m not sure if it’s a display issue or a hardware problem. How can I fix this?

When black lines stay on the screen even after a restart, it usually means there is a hardware problem. If it were my Mac, I would use two quick tests to figure out exactly what is broken before taking it to a repair shop:

One. I always tell people to plug their MacBook into a TV or an external monitor using an HDMI cable. If the black lines do not show up on the TV, your computer’s internal brain (graphics card) is perfectly fine but your laptop screen is physically broken and needs to be replaced. If the lines do show up on the TV, it’s a software or graphics card glitch.

Two. Try slowly opening and closing your laptop lid while watching the lines. If they flicker, change colors, or disappear at a certain angle, the internal display cable (the flex cable) is likely pinched, loose, or torn from years of opening the laptop.

Honestly, if the lines survived a restart and show up in Safe Mode, the screen itself has likely failed, and I highly recommend booking an appointment at the Apple Store to get the panel replaced.
